Reacting to Governor Sani’s recent remarks on Kaduna’s debt, El-Rufai, during an interview with Freedom Radio Kaduna, claimed that the federal government fears he might oppose them in the future. He alleged that Sani accepted the “contract” to politically cripple him by raising concerns about the state’s financial situation.

According to El-Rufai, the federal government promised to provide financial support for projects in Kaduna State in exchange for Sani’s cooperation. He further claimed that the governor was assured of continued funding and political backing as long as he worked against him.

El-Rufai’s comments add to the ongoing rift between the two political figures, highlighting growing tensions within the ruling party.
