The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued a formal statement in response to an incident involving renowned Nigerian musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The event occurred on Tuesday during boarding procedures for a ValueJet flight. According to FAAN, the musician allegedly violated established aviation security protocols by attempting to board the aircraft with an undeclared liquid substance that exceeded the permitted volume allowed under international safety regulations.

The agency stated that, despite being cautioned by Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the flight captain, the passenger declined to comply with instructions. He was reportedly asked to step aside for further clarification but instead poured the contents of his flask—identified as alcohol—on a security officer.

Efforts by the flight captain to de-escalate the situation were reportedly met with similar resistance. After boarding was completed and the aircraft doors were closed, the individual proceeded to the front of the plane and allegedly refused to vacate the area, prompting his removal by AVSEC officials for further questioning.

FAAN has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding aviation security standards and emphasized that actions which jeopardize airport safety or operational integrity will not be condoned, regardless of the individuals involved.
