Adenuga, who ranks as the fifth richest person in Africa according to Forbes, is the founder of Globacom, Nigeria’s second-largest telecom company, with operations in Ghana and Benin Republic.

Rumors about the 71-year-old’s death began circulating earlier this week, but Momodu quickly took to Twitter on Tuesday night to set the record straight. He confirmed that Adenuga is in good health, adding that he had spoken to him personally.

In his tweet, Momodu reassured the public, stating, “Ignore the fake news… The Spirit of Africa, DR MICHAEL ADENIYI AGBOLADE ISOLA ADENUGA, is alive and well. He’s currently at his desk, working tirelessly to support the Nigerian economy. He just called me to express his gratitude to everyone for their concern.”

Adenuga, known for his significant impact on Nigeria’s economy, has remained a private figure in recent years. He first became a millionaire in 1979 at the age of 26, by selling lace and distributing soft drinks.
