Tragedy Strikes Abia: Several Police Officers Killed In Gunmen Attack

eyewitnesses told The Sun that residents fled the scene in panic as the attackers caused widespread destruction. The area, once bustling, now stands largely deserted, as fear grips the local population.

This tragic incident follows a similar attack just two days ago, which resulted in the death of a police officer. On Sunday night, two officers assigned to Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, a member of the House of Representatives for Isiala-Ngwa North/South Constituency, were ambushed in Umuahia. One officer was killed in the attack, while another officer and a driver narrowly escaped.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, for an official statement are still ongoing.
