The Sikorsky SK76 helicopter, operated by East Wind Aviation, went down over the Gulf of Guinea, resulting in multiple fatalities. According to Ledum Light, Ndorbu’s son, the family was informed of the tragic news by his father’s employer, leaving them devastated and yearning for closure.
Initial reports suggested three bodies were retrieved, but the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau later clarified that only two bodies were recovered. Conflicting details continue to cause distress, as a Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers spokesperson reported the discovery of a headless body presumed to be a crash victim.
“We just want his body back,” Light said tearfully, calling on authorities to prioritize recovery efforts. Ndorbu’s wife, Mrs. Mbet Ledum, echoed this plea, saying, “We want him back—dead or alive. That’s all we’re asking.”
