FG Directs Immediate Reopening Of Independence Bridge To Traffic
The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has ordered the immediate reopening of the Independence Bridge in Lagos to vehicular traffic.
According to Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, the bridge had been closed for planned maintenance and rehabilitation. She apologized for the inconvenience caused and urged the public to understand the situation.
The Federal Ministry of Works also clarified that the necessary repairs to the bridge would be carried out at a later date.
