Flashback: Senator Natasha’s Accusation Against Reno Omokri Over S3xual Advances

According to Ireporter, Akpoti-Uduaghan recently alleged in an interview with Arise TV that Senate President Godswill Akpabio sexually harassed her.

However, Akpabio’s wife, Unoma Godswill Akpabio, responded by filing multiple defamation lawsuits against the senator, demanding ₦250 billion in damages.

The dispute between the two lawmakers initially stemmed from a seating arrangement issue in the Senate chamber, which Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed was an attempt to suppress her voice and diminish her role.

During the interview, she likened her experience to that of a student being penalized by a lecturer for rejecting sexual advances.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Akpoti-Uduaghan has made such an accusation. On October 12, 2021, she took to Facebook to allege that Reno Omokri had sexually harassed her on May 6, 2014, at a state banquet held in honor of then-Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In response, Omokri denied the allegations and offered a $50,000 reward to anyone who could produce a photo or video placing him at the event.

To further refute the claim, Omokri presented evidence, including a British Airways flight ticket and immigration stamps from both Nigerian and American authorities, proving he was not in the country at the time.

Omokri explained that he had been in the United States on a special assignment as an envoy of then-President Goodluck Jonathan to address the international backlash over the Chibok schoolgirls’ abduction.

While in the U.S., he met with officials from the U.S. State Department, providing photographic proof of his engagements. Following these revelations, Akpoti-Uduaghan deleted her accusations from social media.

Later, Omokri disclosed that he had received a substantial sum as part of an out-of-court settlement regarding the matter.
