On Thursday, former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, experienced the loss of his elder sister, Mrs. Victoria Moradehun Popoola (née Oyinlola), who was 87 years old. Mrs.

While residing with Mrs. Popoola in Sokoto, Oyinlola joined the Nigerian Army in 1969. Prince Oyinlola, referring to his late sister as his “second mother,” expressed that her passing marks the end of an era in the larger Oyinlola family.

Mrs. Popoola was the oldest among the surviving children of Oba Moses Oyinlola. Several dignitaries, including Prince Oyinlola’s former deputy, Erelu Olusola Obada, have conveyed messages of condolence, describing Mrs. Popoola’s death as a “great loss.”
