Former IGP Adamu Acquires APC Nomination Forms For Nasarawa Governorship Race (Photos)

The forms were reportedly purchased and collected on his behalf by a group of youths on Tuesday in preparation for the APC primaries.

In a related development, Adamu has reaffirmed his commitment to remain in the APC, dismissing speculations that he may defect or withdraw from the governorship race following the endorsement of Senator Aliyu Wadada by Governor Abdullahi Sule as the preferred APC candidate for the 2027 election.

Addressing his supporters, he urged them to ignore rumours suggesting he would leave the party, insisting that he remains firmly in the APC and is determined to see his ambition through to the end.

The former police chief had also recently raised concerns over alleged plans to manipulate the party’s primary process, accusing some actors of attempting to influence ward executives across the 147 wards in the state to favour a predetermined aspirant.

Speaking through the Chairman of Counter and Mobilisation of his campaign team, Isah Nathaniel, in Lafia, he described the alleged moves as political manipulation rather than internal party coordination, warning that such actions amount to an attempt to undermine the will of party members.

He further claimed that there were efforts to impose a preferred candidate ahead of the primaries, despite assurances from the state APC chairman, Aliyu Bello, that all aspirants would be given a level playing field in the forthcoming contest.
