According to DCI Kenneth Udo, the NIS Public Relations Officer, the assault occurred around 7:20 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025. The victims included a local watchman and three contractors.

“Significant damage was inflicted on security facilities, but no immigration officers were harmed during the attack,” Udo stated.

The NIS extended condolences to the families of the victims and pledged to work with security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.

Udo reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to securing Nigeria’s borders and strengthening national security despite the tragic incident.

“The Service remains resolute in its mission of border security and safeguarding the nation,” the statement concluded.
