Fraud Exposed: Mama Boko Haram And Co-Defendants Handed Harsh 15-Year Prison Sentence

The three individuals were re-arraigned in 2020 for conspiring to deceive a petitioner, and after a thorough trial, Justice Aisha Kumaliya delivered the verdict, sentencing each defendant to five years in prison without the option of a fine.

The prosecution, led by Mukhtar Ahmed and Shamsudeeb Saka, presented key evidence, including testimonies and documents, to prove the fraud. Additionally, the court ordered the defendants to pay a restitution of N3.5 million to the petitioner. Should they fail to comply, they face an additional five years of imprisonment.

The case has garnered significant attention, particularly given the high-profile nature of Aisha Wakil, once associated with controversial groups in the region.
