The duo, both natives of Benue State, were apprehended during a navy checkpoint operation along the Ajaokuta-Lokoja Road in Kogi State.

The illicit substance, concealed in a Honda Accord saloon car, was reportedly en route from Edo State to Garki, Abuja, for commercial purposes. The suspects and the contraband were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.

Commander Ugochukwu Ajulu, leading NNS Lugard Lokoja, revealed that the naval checkpoints in Kogi have been proactive, aligning with the directives from the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.
