According to Ireporter Online, the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has paid an unannounced visit to the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday evening, comes shortly after the governor’s recent exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Reports indicate that Fubara arrived at the APC national secretariat at approximately 6:50 p.m., where he was formally received by senior officials of the ruling party.

Among those who welcomed the South-South governor were the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; the National Welfare Secretary, Hon. Donatus Nwapa; and the Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, was also present during the reception.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the governor, who was dressed in a white kaftan and a red cap, explained to party officials that although he was expected to attend a Progressive Governors’ meeting, he considered it important to first visit the party’s national headquarters.
