Eyewitnesses revealed that the boy had been attempting to cross the river when he fell in and began to sink. Fire service personnel responded promptly, arriving at the scene shortly after the call was made at 12:39 pm. Using specialized rescue equipment, they managed to pull the boy from the river and immediately transferred him to his parents before taking him to a nearby hospital for medical care.

The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed the rescue and commended the team for their swift response, ensuring the child’s safety in a dangerous situation.
