Historic Honour: Ilorin NBA Dedicates 2025 Bar Dinner to Senator Saliu Mustapha

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin Branch, has announced that its 2025 Annual Bar Dinner and Award Night will be held in honour of Senator Saliu Mustapha, marking the first time the event will be dedicated to a non-lawyer in the branch’s history.

The dinner, scheduled for 20 December 2025 at the Arca Santa Arena, is expected to attract leading legal practitioners, academics, and justice-sector stakeholders from within and outside Kwara State.

According to a statement signed by the Branch Publicity Secretary, A.O. Ahmed-Aliagan, the recognition is in acknowledgment of Senator Mustapha’s longstanding support, goodwill, and constructive relationship with the Ilorin Bar. The lawmaker, who represents Kwara Central, has over the years provided institutional and personal support to the association, the statement noted.

Analysts say the honour adds to the growing endorsements and felicitations the Senator continues to receive across Kwara, crediting his inclusive representation, community-focused initiatives, and sustained engagement with key professional and civic institutions.

The event will also feature awards for other distinguished personalities, including retired jurist Justice Hannah Ajayi; Prof. Mubarak Adekilekun, SAN; Abdulsalam Yunus, SAN; Lukman Fagbemi, SAN; and Ghazali Shafiu, Officer-in-Charge of Monitoring. A philanthropic award will be presented to business leader Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibola Ibrahim Eleku.
