Phase one will extend from Odoori to the Post Office area, with an additional branch leading to the Oluwo palace. Phase two will cover the stretch from the Post Office to Adeeke junction. Governor Adeleke emphasized that this initiative reflects his government’s commitment to fairness and equitable development.

The governor instructed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to engage with local stakeholders through community meetings, ensuring broad support for the project. Construction is set to begin in January 2025.

In his speech, delivered by his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke also highlighted other developmental strides in Iwo, such as the rehabilitation of local roads and waterworks. Additionally, the governor reaffirmed Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi as the President of the Iwo Council of Traditional Rulers, urging him to continue leading with inclusivity.

Lai Olurode, President of the Iwo Board of Trustees, called on local residents to support Oluwo’s leadership, as the monarch is dedicated to transforming the town. Olurode assured that the board would maintain its high standards of volunteerism and community service.
