According to Fox News, Representative Ogles introduced the resolution to change the existing constitutional limits, specifically targeting the 22nd Amendment.

The amendment proposal states: “No individual shall be elected to the presidency more than three times, nor shall anyone who has served two consecutive terms be eligible for any additional terms. Furthermore, no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President for more than two years of a term to which another person was elected, shall be elected as President more than twice.”

Ratified in 1951, the 22nd Amendment currently prevents presidents from serving more than two terms.

In a statement released on Thursday, Rep. Ogles argued that Trump is in a unique position to reverse the nation’s troubling trajectory and restore its former glory. He asserted that Trump deserves the time needed to realize this ambitious vision.

“The President has demonstrated that he is the only leader in modern history capable of reversing our nation’s decline and restoring America to greatness. He should be given the time necessary to achieve this goal,” Ogles stated in his media announcement.

“To facilitate this, I am proposing an amendment to the Constitution to alter the restrictions imposed by the 22nd Amendment on presidential terms. This amendment would specifically allow President Trump to serve for three terms, ensuring our country retains the strong leadership it critically needs.”
