I Was Robbed” – Portable Rejects Carter Efe’s Boxing Win Claim
According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats singer Habeeb Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has expressed strong dissatisfaction following his defeat to skit maker Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing match held in Lagos.
Portable, who spoke during a live Instagram broadcast shortly after the bout on Saturday morning, alleged that the fight was unfairly judged and claimed that several of his punches were not counted. He accused Carter Efe of using his physical advantage unfairly and faulted the organisers for what he described as biased officiating.
He stated that he was robbed of victory, insisting that his opponent engaged in tactics such as clinching and excessive use of reach without proper intervention from referees. Portable also demanded payment of his streaming earnings, reportedly amounting to about ₦200 million, warning that failure to do so could lead to further action.
Despite his complaints over the outcome, Portable downplayed the significance of the defeat, saying he placed greater value on the birth of his newborn son than on the championship belt. He added that while titles could be acquired with money, the joy of a child was priceless.
The match, which took place at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event at Balmoral Hall in Lagos, ended in Carter Efe’s favour after all three judges scored it 27–30, awarding him a unanimous decision victory and the celebrity boxing title.
Prior to the fight, Portable had confidently predicted another triumph, boasting about his previous victories over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington. However, Carter Efe dismissed the threat before the bout, promising a swift victory, which he eventually achieved by leveraging his height and reach advantage throughout the three-round contest.
