Chief Igbinedion made the appeal during the commissioning of the Intercontinental Paint PLC factory and office in Benin City, the Edo state capital.

He advised the youths that when they have the opportunity to start any business, they should not delay the idea, commending the company for setting the factory in Benin.

“For long, we have been hearing what is happening on the Benin-Ekpoma Auchi road that people now spend days on the road between Ekpoma and Auchi and beyond.

“A lot of economic activities are lost because of infrastructural facilities, especially roads are not in place and most times goods are damaged as vehicle can’t reach their destination on time. I call on the Federal government to quickly intervene in reconstructing the road to ensure stability and the movement of goods on the road.”

While calling on the government at all level to provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive, he said government can’t do it alone and that it is through public private partnership that society can develop

Earlier, the Intercontinental paint’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Aigbe Omoregie, said the commissioning of the Benin office brings to three locations where the company is operating.

“I started in 2006 with just N18,000 and today, we have a factory in Lagos, Ugandan and now in Benin City. The factory in Benin will serve the South South region.

“Today, intercontinental paint worth over a million dollar and our vision is to ensure that intercontinental paint is number one paint products in the African continent”.
