“I’m Fine If My Wife Sleeps With Someone Else” — Rapper Blaqbonez Sparks Debate On Open Marriage

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, widely known as Blaqbonez, has stirred conversations online after revealing his unconventional views on marriage and fidelity. Speaking in a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, the rapper stated that he would be comfortable being in an open marriage, stressing that sexual exclusivity is not the only foundation of a lasting relationship.

According to Ireporter Online, Blaqbonez explained that many couples experience a decline in sexual intimacy over time, especially when one partner is unavailable due to work or travel commitments. He maintained that allowing freedom in such situations could help sustain peace and emotional connection in marriage.

The Back In Uni crooner noted that marriage involves far more than physical intimacy, adding that he would not mind his partner sleeping with someone else as long as her loyalty and emotional attachment remain with him.

He said, “I don’t mind having an open marriage. Most married couples don’t maintain the same level of sexual activity they had in the beginning—it usually reduces. If someone satisfies her sexually while I’m away hustling or touring, that’s fine. There’s more to marriage than sex, and I’m okay with that as long as she’s still committed to me.”

Blaqbonez further remarked that no outsider could easily replace the emotional and mental bond he shares with his partner, emphasizing that humor, connection, and shared experiences mean more to him than physical exclusivity. He added humorously that if he ever gets married, he would prefer that he and his wife have separate rooms, meeting only when they wish to be intimate.
