International Youth Day: Deputy Speaker Appeals To Youths For National Unity
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, had advised Nigeria youths to support national unity by engaging in federal government’s policies.
Benjamin Kalu said this in a statement to mark the International Youth Day, on Monday.
Kalu promised that with the country’s abundant talent pool of young people, the 10th House of Reps would continue to strengthen the country’s innovation and technology to global competitiveness.
He stated that the National Assembly remains dedicated to addressing important concerns of Nigerian youths.
Speaking on the International Youth Day theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”, Kalu added that youths play a critical role in advancing digital spaces for societal development.
The Deputy Speaker noted that while digital space has many challenges, technology remains the gateway to the future.
Kalu said, “In our rapidly evolving society, technology is the gateway to our future. The youth, who represent the largest demographic of users and innovators, are pivotal in shaping global digital trends. They remain an indispensable force in harnessing the transformative power of technology to tackle global challenges.
“With Nigeria’s abundant talent pool of young people, the 10th House is committed to strengthening innovation and technology to boost our nation’s global competitiveness. Among our key initiatives is the introduction of a national innovation strategy aimed at prioritizing digital transformation and promoting programs that develop digital skills.
“As we celebrate the youth today, I urge everyone to support national unity and collective prosperity by engaging with the various initiatives, programs, and policies implemented by this administration. We remain dedicated to addressing the essential concerns of our youth.”
