Invest More In Men Than Women To Be Remembered In The Future’ — Lady Sparks Debate
A Nigerian woman has sparked widespread discussion on social media after sharing a personal story about loyalty, gratitude, and her preference for investing more in men than women. According to Ireporter Online, the woman recounted an experience that reshaped her views on trust and reciprocity.
The incident began last year when she borrowed money from a male friend during a period of financial difficulty. She said she intended to repay the loan within three months and returned nearly the full amount on schedule. However, a small remaining balance slipped her mind. Despite occasional chats and social media interactions, the friend never reminded her of the outstanding sum, and over time, both became busy with their daily routines.
The forgotten balance resurfaced when she considered referring a business opportunity to the same friend. By mistake, she opened his business WhatsApp account and noticed their last conversation, which included the receipt of her previous payment. Realizing her oversight, she immediately transferred the remaining amount along with an additional sum as a gesture of appreciation and apology. The friend responded with gratitude, revealing that he had already forgotten the balance himself, citing her previous support during his own financial struggles.
Reflecting on the experience, the woman explained that it reinforced her belief in investing more in men than women. She wrote, “Not to devalue my gender, but I chose to invest more in men than women.” Her post has since drawn mixed reactions online, with users debating whether loyalty and gratitude should be tied to gender.
