Jamiu Abiola Declares: “Those Who Caused The Deaths Of MKO And Kudirat Abiola Will Burn In Hell Forever.”

Jamiu Abiola, the son of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, the widely acknowledged winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, has rejected calls for an investigation into the involvement of former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, in his father’s death. Speaking in an interview with Punch, Jamiu argued that further probing of Babangida or any other individuals connected to the annulment of the election is unnecessary, as many of the key figures in the June 12 events have already passed away……..READ MORE

Jamiu stated that the appropriate time for such an inquiry would have been during the second term of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, when Nigeria’s democracy was more stable, and several involved parties were still alive to share their perspectives.

For those still seeking a deeper understanding of the events, Jamiu recommended his book, The President Who Never Ruled, which delves into the annulment and the subsequent political machinations. He emphasized that readers should seek the truth, rather than pursuing vengeance.

Jamiu stressed that the best way to honor the memory of his late parents, MKO and Kudirat Abiola, is through a national commitment to unity and patriotism, not political probes. He urged Nigerians to adopt the spirit of national unity demonstrated on June 12, 1993, and to reject tribalism and religious divisions when electing leaders.

In line with President Bola Tinubu’s call for national cohesion, Jamiu encouraged Nigerians to work towards transforming the country into a united nation, free from ethnic divides. He also acknowledged that while any posthumous honors for his parents would be appreciated, their true reward lies in the afterlife.

Jamiu concluded by asserting that those responsible for his parents’ deaths and the injustice they suffered would ultimately face divine judgment, declaring, “Every single one of those who cheated and killed them will burn in hell forever and ever by the special grace of God.”
