January Transfer Talks: Juventus Targets Napoli’s Victor Osimhen
Italian Serie A side, Juventus are making strategic plans to secure the services of Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen once the transfer window reopens in January.
Juventus’ interest in Victor Osimhen was ignited because the club’s confidence in Serbian star, Dusan Vlahovic to develop into a frontline striker has waned, according to Rai Sports’ football chief, Paolo Paganini.
Vlahovic, who joined Juventus from Serie A club Fiorentina in January 2022, has struggled to live up to expectations, prompting the club to explore alternative options to strengthen their attacking line.
Victor Osimhen has emerged as a prime target for Juventus, as they look to add firepower to their squad. The 25-year-old Nigerian striker is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, and he is considered one of the top strikers on Juventus’ radar for the upcoming transfer window.
Reports suggest that Osimhen’s contract includes a release clause set at €75 million, making him an attractive prospect for Juventus as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
Furthermore, Osimhen’s existing relationship with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Guintoli is seen as a potential facilitator for the transfer, adding another layer of intrigue to the potential move.
Note that since the Nigeria international completed his loan move to Galatasaray in September 2024, he has provided an assist in each of the two games he has played for the Turkish reigning champions.
