JUST IN: Emir Of Kano Loses Mother
Hajiya Maryam Ado Bayero, the mother of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, is dead.
Details of her death are still sketchy but she was said to have died at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, this morning.
Awaisu Abbas Sanusi, who works under the Kano Emirate Council Secretary, told Daily Trust that she had been sick for a while.
He said the date and time of her burial arrangements will be communicated later
The deceased, aged 86, is also the mother of the present emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero.
Late Hajiya Maryam was the wife of late emir Ado Bayero and a princess of Ilorin Emirate in Kwara state.
