JUST IN: APC Makes U-Turn On Campaign Lists For Bayelsa, Imo, Kogi Elections, Gives Fresh Update
On Tuesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) underwent a complete reversal by distancing itself from the campaign council lists it had initially released for the upcoming November 11, 2023 governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.
APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, clarified in a late Tuesday statement that the previously disclosed lists were not officially recognized documents of the party.
Earlier on that same Tuesday, the APC had published campaign council lists in preparation for the off-season governorship elections across the three states.

The lists were formally signed by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Sulaimon Argungu.
Of particular note, the Bayelsa campaign council list prominently featured Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a member. Wike is associated with the G5 group, a faction within the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressing dissatisfaction.
Interestingly, in August, the PDP had already designated Wike as a member of its campaign council for the Bayelsa governorship election. While the APC has nominated former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, as its candidate, Governor Douye Diri of the PDP is seeking re-election.
The APC’s sudden change in stance could likely be linked to the complications arising from Wike’s inclusion in the campaign council for Bayelsa, indicating the intrigue surrounding this situation.
