JUST IN: Peter Obi Has Done It Again (DETAILS)

Obi Tinubu Atiku Kwankwaso

A new poll released in December found that the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, Peter Obi, is ahead of the three other frontline candidates for the second time in four months.

According to the NOI Polls Limited poll, Obi leads Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Atedo Peterside, President of the Anap Foundation, stated this during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Wednesday.

He stated that the election has moved from a three-horse race to a four-horse race, as stated in an earlier poll released in September.

In a new poll released in December, Peterside reported that Obi received 23%, Tinubu received 13%, Atiku received 10%, and Kwankwaso received 2%.

“Nobody has gained or lost more than 2, 3 percent. I don’t know whether that is good news or bad news but it is as if nothing has happened fundamentally, no significant shift,” he said.

He stated that mobile phones were used to conduct the poll due to increased mobile phone penetration in the country, and that a large percentage of the population is undecided.

Peterside also stated that the next general election is being driven by the nation’s economic challenges, poverty, and insecurity, among other things.

He noted that youths’ interest in this election is high, and he carpeted candidates who have avoided presidential debates.

Anap Foundation conducted a similar poll in September, with Obi leading the other 17 candidates for Aso Rock’s top job in 2023.
