JUST IN: Suspended Ogun LG Chairman Loses In Court (DETAILS)

Wale Adedayo

An Ogun High Court in Ijebu Ode has rejected an ex-parte application filed by the suspended Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Wale Adedayo.

He had sought to halt further investigations and actions by the councillors who were probing him for alleged financial mismanagement.

In the ruling, presiding judge Justice A.A. Omoniyi dismissed the application “in its entirety”. The judge noted that the application was not filed in a timely manner, as the claimant had received notice of the resolution on August 31 but waited until September 11 to file the application.

The court directed the claimant to notify the defendants and scheduled the hearing of the originating summons for September 22, 2023.

This decision comes after councillors of the Ijebu East Legislative Council suspended the chairman and directed the vice chairman to take over pending the conclusion of the investigation into alleged financial malpractice.
