Why Tinubu’s Election Victory Is Divine – Tallen

Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, regards the confirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s election by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal as a testament to the divine nature of his victory.

Tallen, who also served as Deputy Governor of Plateau State and held the position of State Minister for Science and Technology, conveyed these sentiments during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday.

She emphasized, “The emergence of Tinubu as Nigeria’s President is a God-project for the nation’s unity and stability.”

Tallen recalled the challenges preceding his election, such as the contentious naira redesign and a campaign of defamation, any of which could have thwarted his ambitions. Despite these odds, Tinubu emerged victorious. Tallen sees this as a confirmation that true leadership is divinely ordained and cannot be obstructed.

She extended congratulations to Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and all party members for their success at the tribunal.

Tallen also urged opposition candidates, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, to accept the court’s verdict and collaborate with Tinubu for Nigeria’s betterment.

She commended Tinubu’s magnanimity in inviting the opposition to join him, highlighting his dedication to political inclusiveness. Tallen emphasized that it’s natural for there to be winners and losers in any contest, and urged everyone to come together for the collective advancement of the nation.

Regarding insinuations of manipulated tribunal judgment, Tallen encouraged those thinking along those lines to accept the court’s ruling as a victory for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

Describing Tinubu as a unifying figure, Tallen expressed confidence in his ability to lead Nigeria to economic and infrastructural prosperity, even in the face of temporary challenges like fuel subsidy removal. She lauded Tinubu’s track record as Lagos State Governor and his reputation as a self-made leader committed to national development.

Furthermore, Tallen expressed trust that Tinubu’s presidency would prioritize women’s participation in governance, ensuring the implementation of the 35% affirmative action for women. While women’s representation in Tinubu’s initial ministerial appointments may not have reached the 35% mark, Tallen remains optimistic about future appointive positions for women, extending beyond ministerial roles. She emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to women’s empowerment and his reputation for keeping his promises.
