Tinubu meets Security Chiefs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a crucial meeting with the nation’s service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police at his official residence within the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

Earlier today, The PUNCH observed a convoy of vehicles conveying top military officers arriving at the villa around 3:00 p.m. This aligns with earlier reports suggesting the President intended to summon security leaders over the escalating violence in Plateau, Benue, and other volatile regions.

Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday night following an 18-day working visit and retreat in Paris and London.

Despite efforts by security forces, violent attacks persist—leading to the destruction of homes and displacement of over 3,000 residents. In Benue alone, at least 56 lives were lost in recent assaults allegedly carried out by armed herders in Logo and Gbagir.
