Kaduna PDP Condemns Bandit Attacks, Demands Urgent Government Action
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has strongly condemned the recent attacks by armed bandits on Kagara and Ugom communities in Giwa and Kajuru Local Government Areas, which led to the deaths of two residents and left several others injured.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the state party chairman, Edward Percy Masha, the PDP expressed deep sorrow over the killings, identifying the deceased as Salisu Aminu and Stephen Alhassan. The party described the attacks as senseless and tragic, noting that lives were lost, communities were destabilized, and livestock rustled.
Masha criticized both the federal and state governments for what he termed a consistent failure to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. He urged Governor Uba Sani’s administration to immediately reevaluate its security strategy, reenergize the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, and strengthen coordination with federal security agencies.
“The PDP calls on the Kaduna State Government to take responsibility and act decisively. Enough of the rhetoric—what residents need now is protection and peace,” Masha said.
The party also appealed to state agencies, particularly the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to promptly assist affected residents and communities with relief and medical aid.
Pledging its commitment to holding the All Progressives Congress (APC) government accountable, the PDP assured Kaduna residents that it is working towards restoring responsible governance ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We urge the people to remain calm and resilient,” Masha added. “The PDP stands with every affected family and prays for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents in Kaduna State, where banditry and insecurity continue to threaten rural communities despite ongoing government efforts.
