Popoola, along with his wife, Ganiyat Olawale-Popoola, and their cousin, Abdulmumuny Folaranmi, were kidnapped from their residence within the National Eye Centre Quarters in Mando, Kaduna.

Family members had previously appealed to authorities for the safe release of the kidnapped victims, expressing concern for their well-being.

According to sources, Popoola’s release came after an undisclosed ransom was paid to the kidnappers. However, his wife and cousin remain in captivity.

While expressing gratitude for Popoola’s safe return, family members continue to pray for the release of the remaining hostages, hoping for their unconditional release and good health.
