Lagos Braces For Power Nightmare — 25 Days Of Outage As TCN Shuts Down Supply Lines

residents and businesses in Lagos and surrounding areas should prepare for extended power interruptions starting Monday, July 28, as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) begins a critical maintenance operation on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

The maintenance, ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, will take place daily between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., stretching through to Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The scheduled operation is expected to significantly impact power transmission, with load shedding and possible blackouts across several areas.

TCN, in its public notice, cautioned that electricity supply might be intermittent during this period and urged consumers to remain patient, stressing that the maintenance is essential for enhancing grid performance.

ACCORDING TO IREPORTER ONLINE, although specific districts weren’t mentioned, the affected transmission line serves as a critical supply channel for parts of Lagos and its environs, making the impact potentially widespread.
