The statement emphasized the administration’s commitment to fairness and due process, stating:

“The Governor wishes to categorically affirm that his administration does not support any form of extrajudicial action. Such practices are against our values and principles.”

Lagos 2025 Budget Passes Second Reading as Lawmakers Advocate Fiscal Prudence

Meanwhile, the Lagos State House of Assembly has progressed with deliberations on the proposed N3.005 trillion 2025 budget, presented by Governor Sanwo-Olu last Thursday.

During Monday’s plenary, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa directed a joint committee on appropriation and finance to review the bill and provide feedback within a month.

Hon. Sa’ad Olumoh, Chair of the Budget and Economic Planning Committee, presented an analysis of the budget, highlighting a projected deficit financing of N408 billion. He urged the exploration of alternative financing options such as Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to reduce dependence on loans.

“We must ensure the budget is realistic and scrutinize it thoroughly to minimize wastage,” Olumoh advised.

The committee praised the government’s intentions as outlined in the proposed budget but called for sustainable and pragmatic financing strategies.
