The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has dismissed widespread reports alleging a rift between him and the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.

According to Ireporter Online, the monarch clarified that there is no disagreement between the palace and the state government, urging members of the public to disregard the circulating rumours. In a statement issued by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, the palace emphasized that relations between the Olubadan and key stakeholders in Ibadanland remain cordial and intact.

The statement further refuted speculations that the monarch deliberately left Ibadan to avoid attending a coronation ceremony scheduled for Friday, April 3. It maintained that the Olubadan is currently in Ibadan and continues to perform his traditional duties without interruption.

Describing the reports as misleading, the palace advised the public to verify information before sharing it, stressing the importance of relying on credible sources.

Providing clarification on the postponed coronation ceremony, the Olubadan revealed that three High Chiefs slated for elevation had formally written to him, notifying him of their inability to attend the event and requesting a postponement. The development, according to the palace, was duly communicated to the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

The Olubadan-in-Council subsequently called on residents and the general public to ignore unverified claims of discord between the monarch and the state government, reiterating its commitment to transparency and urging reliance on accurate information regarding its activities.
