Reports further show that the parallel market, also known as the Aboki FX market, continues to reflect fluctuating rates driven by demand and supply dynamics. However, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has consistently maintained that it does not recognize transactions conducted within the black market, advising individuals seeking foreign exchange to carry out such transactions through authorized financial institutions.

In contrast, official figures from the CBN revealed that the dollar traded within a range, with the highest rate recorded at ₦1,385 and the lowest at ₦1,373 for the same period. Market observers note that discrepancies often exist between official and parallel market rates due to varying liquidity levels and market forces.
