Man Faces Murder Charges After Allegedly Beating His Son Over Bed-Wetting

A 29-year-old man, Jeremy Bosman, has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of his three-year-old stepson, Charvandre Kieran Everson. The incident allegedly arose from Bosman’s violent response to the child wetting his bed.……..CONTINUE READING

Mojalefa Senokoatsane, a spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Northern Cape, stated that the alleged abuse occurred on October 19 when Bosman discovered Charvandre had wet the bed. Preliminary investigations suggest Bosman reacted by hitting the child on the head, using a broom as a weapon, and slamming his head against a wall. These actions reportedly left Charvandre unable to eat or open his mouth.

In a second incident, after another bed-wetting episode, Bosman allegedly assaulted Charvandre again, leading to blood in the child’s mouth and loss of control over bodily functions. Reports indicate the child was left unable to move his legs. Bosman then reportedly told the child’s mother to stay silent before bringing Charvandre to De Aar New Hospital, where, tragically, medical personnel found he had already passed away.

Hospital staff observed multiple bruises, particularly on Charvandre’s back, prompting them to alert authorities, leading to Bosman’s arrest. He faces charges of murder and assault, with the investigation ongoing. Bosman is held in custody until his November 1 court appearance, where he is expected to apply for bail. The NPA has announced plans to oppose bail due to the severity of the charges.
