Masterstroke: How Kashim Shettima Thwarted The NBA Conspiracy And The Last Show Of Shame(Videos)

Once upon a time is a common phrase used to begin a story about the past, and it is most commonly associated with fairy tales and folk tales. If historians were to write the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA 2022 conference, it would be told in this manner.

Once upon a time, the NBA held its 2022 conference. The legal profession witnessed both good and bad at the conference, but like in a fairy tale, the good prevailed over the evil forces.

Being the last conference preceding the general elections, the NBA leadership invited all of the front-runners for the upcoming 2023 presidential elections to address the knowledgeable delegates and share their visions for changing the nation.

It so happened that when some specific aspirants realized that an invitation had been extended to other aspirants, there was a grand plan to mock one of the leading contenders for the 2023 presidential elections and his political party.

This was how the plan was unveiled by the APC vice presidential candidate,

” I was in Lagos for the NBA conference. It used to hold at Eko Hotel and was largely funded by the APC government of Lagos state”

And that is how good triumphed over evil; The APC vice presidential candidate stole the show with his brilliant presentation which wowed the entire audience to the point where even the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was seen clapping several times for his wonderful presentation and unique style of dressing.

In this way, Kashim Shettima “thwarted” the plot intended to mock the APC presidential campaign team.

However, similar to a tale of two stories, the NBA conference ended in a show of shame as a few irate lawyers turned it into one.

Some lawyers went on a rampage at the Eko Atlantic City venue of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) annual general conference over the distribution of merchandise.

According to the then-NBA president, Olumide Akpata, the lawyers stole bags, phones, and even beat up venue staff, displaying the most contempt for the learned profession.

It was a conference which discovered brilliancy of an astute politician that ended days later with a show of shame, but for the awesome performance of Kashim Shettima the NBA 2022 Annual Conference would have been noted only for ignoble roles.

Once upon a time, the NBA held its 2022 conference, and it is remembered as one of the most fascinating conferences ever because the legal profession discovered an incredibly talented politician who was also a fashionista and an intellectual prodigy.
