“Mbappé Breaks Silence On Vinícius Rift — ‘We’re Fighting For The Same Dream At Real Madrid’”
According to Ireporter Online, French football star Kylian Mbappé has dismissed speculations of rivalry between himself and Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior, affirming that both players share a strong bond and a united ambition to restore Real Madrid’s dominance in world football.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Movistar Plus+, Mbappé clarified that his relationship with Vinícius has deepened since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu, noting that the duo have grown closer on and off the pitch.
“I have a very good relationship with Vinícius. Much better this year — we’ve gotten to know each other more. He’s a fantastic player and a genuinely good person,” Mbappé said.
Speculation about tension between the two had circulated following Madrid’s inconsistent performances last season, with many questioning whether their similar attacking styles could coexist. However, Mbappé dismissed the rumours as typical media exaggeration surrounding high-profile players.
“Two famous players on the same team sell a lot of papers,” he said with a smile. “People will always talk, but this isn’t serious. If there’s ever a real problem — which I hope never happens — I’ll say it, and people will understand. But this is just noise.”
Mbappé emphasised that both he and Vinícius are focused on one mission — winning trophies for Real Madrid after a lacklustre 2024–2025 season.
“We both want the same thing — to help Madrid win titles. For that to happen, we must perform at our best and support the whole team,” he added.
Their partnership appears to be flourishing this season, as both stars have already scored in the same league match three times — nearly equalling their tally from last year. Mbappé currently tops the club’s scoring chart with 14 goals across all competitions, while Vinícius has recorded seven goal contributions. Their impressive form has lifted Los Blancos to the top of the La Liga table ahead of the October international break.
Beyond Madrid’s resurgence, Mbappé also praised Barcelona’s rising teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal, urging the public to give the 18-year-old space to develop both as a footballer and as a person.
“People talk too much about his personal life,” Mbappé said. “He’s a wonderful footballer, but at the end of the day, he’s still just a kid. Let him grow.”
