Olawande made this declaration during his appearance on the Mic On podcast amidst growing speculation about Seyi Tinubu’s potential gubernatorial ambition in 2027. He addressed the rumors directly, emphasizing Seyi’s readiness for leadership.

“He’s not too young to become a governor,” Olawande said, highlighting Seyi’s qualifications and the necessary training for public office.

“He’s a well-prepared young man who has been involved in youth development even before his father became President,” Olawande added, emphasizing Seyi’s commitment to leadership and his contribution to Nigeria’s progress.

Speculation about Seyi Tinubu’s possible gubernatorial bid began in 2024 following endorsements from groups such as the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL). Despite these endorsements, Seyi has remained silent on the matter, neither confirming nor denying any political ambitions.

Olawande clarified that Seyi Tinubu is not the one orchestrating the campaigns for his gubernatorial ambition. “Seyi is not the one engineering the campaign to become the next governor of Lagos State,” he said, distancing him from the advocacy by various groups.
