Mother Attacked With Baseball Bat After Allegedly Failing To Cook For Son

A 27-year-old man has allegedly attacked his mother with a baseball bat following an argument over her failure to prepare food for him in Memphis, Tennessee.

According to reports, Deangelo Billingsley was at home with his mother on September 5, 2026, when a disagreement reportedly broke out between them.

Court documents indicate that the argument allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation, with Billingsley reportedly going to his mother’s bedroom, picking up an aluminum baseball bat and striking her in the head.

Police officers who arrived at the residence following the incident reportedly observed a laceration on the woman’s forehead. She told authorities that her son had assaulted her and was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries described as critical.

Following his arrest, Billingsley allegedly admitted to investigators that he picked up an aluminum bat from his bedroom and charged at his mother with it.

According to the police account, Billingsley told authorities that the confrontation began because his mother had not gotten food for him.

The incident has led to criminal charges against Billingsley, including attempted second-degree murder and domestic assault causing bodily harm.

The allegations are yet to be proven in court, and Billingsley remains entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty.
