Mr Eazi Opens Up: Why He Quit Listening To Burna Boy’s Songs — Fans React Online

According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has disclosed why he deliberately avoids listening to music from fellow artiste Burna Boy, stating that the decision is aimed at preserving the originality of his own sound.

The “Skin Tight” crooner made this known during an appearance on the Afropolitan Podcast, where he clarified that his choice has nothing to do with any personal conflict or dislike for Burna Boy. He emphasized that he holds the Grammy-winning artiste in high regard but prefers to distance himself from his songs to safeguard his creative identity.

Mr Eazi explained that both artistes share similar deep vocal textures, noting that frequent exposure to Burna Boy’s music could unconsciously influence his delivery and recording style. He expressed concern that such influence might cause his sound to gradually resemble that of Burna Boy, even without deliberate intent.

He further stated that his decision is rooted in the desire to maintain the uniqueness that defines his artistry, adding that he does not want fans to perceive any shift or dilution in his signature sound.

In his words, he said he avoids Burna Boy’s music because he does not want his sound to drift from its original identity.

Despite this, both artistes have previously worked together on the track “Miss You Bad,” which featured on Mr Eazi’s 2018 project Life Is Eazi, Vol. 2 – Lagos To London.
