The crash occurred around 1 pm, and as of the time of the statement, the number of individuals on board and their condition remained unknown.

The helicopter had taken off from Zungeru Primary School, headed to Kaduna. However, it was later discovered to have crashed near Chukuba Village in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

Currently, efforts are underway to rescue both the crew members and passengers who were on board the helicopter during the incident. Preliminary investigations have also commenced to determine the likely cause of the crash, as mentioned in the statement.

It’s important to note that a tragic incident involving a plane crash occurred on February 22, 2021, where seven NAF personnel lost their lives while en route from Abuja to Minna, the capital of Niger State, shortly after takeoff from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.
