Nigerian Army Seizes 365 Packs Of Cannabis In Ogun State
Troops from the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army stationed in Alamala, Ogun State, successfully intercepted a large quantity of cannabis sativa, totaling over 365 pieces, neatly wrapped in pawpaw leaves. The suspect in possession of the illegal substance was apprehended during a routine patrol conducted by the troops on January 6, 2024.
Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu, the Brigade Commander, handed over the confiscated cannabis, which weighed approximately 176 kg, to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Abeokuta.
While assuring continued collaboration with other security agencies to combat crime in the state, Aminu, represented by Garrison Commander Colonel Legborsi Deedum Nule, emphasized the Brigade’s commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism among its soldiers.
In response, the Commandant of NDLEA’s Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, lauded the efforts of the 35 Artillery Brigade and advocated for increased collaboration between the military and other security agencies within the state.
