No Two PDPs Exist, Wike Is Our National Leader — Anosike Declares

According to Ireporter Online, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, has asserted that the faction of the party aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, represents the only legally recognised structure of the PDP by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Anosike dismissed claims suggesting the existence of multiple recognised factions within the party, insisting that any political activity conducted outside the acknowledged structure would be futile. He maintained that there is only one PDP in existence, which he said is duly recognised by INEC, adding that Wike remains the party’s national leader.

He further claimed that he is the sole governorship candidate of the PDP in Abia State, while alleging that several political parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and others, have aligned with the PDP in a bid to unseat Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 governorship election.

Speaking on youth engagement, Anosike accused the current administration in Abia State of neglecting young people, claiming that a large percentage of youths are aligning with his political movement. He also stated that more supporters were joining daily, adding that the endorsements from other parties would soon become evident.

Addressing suggestions that his ambition was being sponsored by influential politicians, Anosike dismissed the claims, insisting that his political aspiration was divinely inspired and not influenced by any individual. He also denied any connection to former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

He urged Governor Otti’s administration to avoid alleged intimidation of opposition voices, stressing the importance of allowing constructive criticism. According to him, government officials should be willing to defend their performance rather than suppress dissenting opinions, warning that such actions could raise public suspicion.

Anosike also criticised the Otti-led government for focusing heavily on road infrastructure while allegedly neglecting other critical sectors of the economy. He argued that despite increased federal allocations, infrastructure development alone should not be considered a major achievement if citizens continue to face economic hardship and poverty.
