Obasanjo, in a statement released by his media assistant, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Wednesday, commended the Namibian people’s decision to place their trust in Nandi-Ndaitwah’s leadership, marking a historic milestone for the country. The statement praised the victory of the ruling SWAPO party in last week’s elections, which saw Nandi-Ndaitwah secure more than 57% of the vote, far ahead of her closest rival, Panduleni Itula, with 25.5%.
