Osun Police Warn Ladies To Stay Vigilant Against Yahoo Boys Scams
Osun State Police Command on Wednesday warned residents of the state, especially women, to be wary of the activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as yahoo boys, who have expanded their criminal activities to ritual killing.
A statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said yahoo boys in the state have escalated their nefarious activities to include ritualistic practices.
Opalola, who said yahoo boys have been devising all manners of tricks to lure into secluded places before killing their unsuspecting victims predominantly women, added that these criminals have also been harvesting body parts of their victims for ritual purposes.
“Osun State Police Command is using this medium to caution members of the public, especially young girls, on the activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys’.
“This warning/advice becomes pertinent as the command has noticed disturbing techniques / dimensions of the Yahoo Boys in our society.
“These fraudsters have escalated their nefarious activities to include ritualistic practices, hatching sinister plots to lure and murder unsuspecting victim(s) predominantly women with the intention of harvesting their body parts for ritual purpose,” the statement read.
Expressing commitment to ensuring safety and security of residents and visitors to the State, Opalola further assured that the Command would keep working hard to apprehend and prosecute anyone found engaging in act of criminality.
