Paul Onuachu Sidelined As Trabzonspor Star Suffers Thigh Injury

The Nigerian forward was withdrawn from the travelling squad after sustaining a muscle problem during a training session at the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities under the supervision of head coach Fatih Tekke. Club officials confirmed on Friday, April 10, that the striker experienced pain and stiffness in the upper front region of his left thigh, with initial assessments indicating a suspected muscle injury.

As a result, Onuachu has been removed from the squad and has already begun treatment under the club’s medical team. The forward has been a key figure for Trabzonspor this season, delivering an impressive return of 24 goals in 28 appearances and contributing significantly to the club’s attacking output.

His absence is considered a major blow to Trabzonspor’s ambitions heading into the clash, given his consistency and importance in front of goal. However, there was some relief for the squad as fellow Nigerians Anthony Nwakaeme and Chibuike Nwaiwu were included in the travelling party and could be available for selection.

The match between Trabzonspor and Alanyaspor is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. on April 11.
