PDP And LP In Panic Mode As Ganduje Makes Strong Declaration Concerning What Will Happen To Opposition Parties Under His Watch
Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano state and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed his intention to initiate discussions with opposition political parties for a potential merger with the APC.
Ganduje shared his strategy on Tuesday night after a meeting with former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong.
He had previously held a private meeting with Nyesom Wike, the former Rivers State governor, at Wike’s residence in Abuja.
During his conversation with journalists, Ganduje hinted that he has begun reaching out to leaders of certain opposition parties in order to strengthen the ruling party’s influence in the political landscape, particularly in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

He also mentioned that he has devised a plan to enhance the membership drive within the APC. Ganduje expressed, “This will certainly enhance our party’s prospects, especially in the 2027 elections.
Moreover, we are introducing a new strategy to increase the party’s following, which will encompass officials from various backgrounds, both within the APC and other political parties.
I can assure you that some political parties will even merge with the APC. We are working on this behind the scenes.”
In response to inquiries about his meeting with Nyesom Wike, a prominent figure in the main opposition party and a Minister-designate, Ganduje acknowledged that Wike could be a valuable addition to the APC.
However, he clarified that their private meeting did not touch on Wike’s potential plans to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and join the APC.
Ganduje explained, “Wike is a respected Minister-designate. He visited, and we discussed his new role because I wanted to congratulate him on that, and he also came to offer his congratulations to me. We spoke about how he will work diligently to enhance the ministry he will oversee, and he expressed his willingness to cooperate.”
“But we did not discuss whether he would be joining the APC or not. That matter will be addressed at a later time.”
