manipulating last Saturday’s local government elections.

Adebutu, who spoke to reporters in Abeokuta after being invited by the Department of State Security (DSS) and the police over allegations tied to the election, claimed the polls were marred by irregularities, intimidation, and result manipulation. He labeled the entire exercise a “sham.”

“They played into our hands and rigged the election in a crass manner,” Adebutu stated, adding that the PDP chose to participate in the election to expose APC’s alleged electoral misconduct.

Despite accusations against him, including claims of escorting individuals to polling stations, Adebutu denied any wrongdoing, emphasizing that APC thugs disrupted the process by snatching ballot boxes.

He alleged that election materials failed to reach many polling units and accused the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) of producing fabricated results. Furthermore, Adebutu criticized the alleged mismanagement of N214 billion in local government funds over the past four years, vowing to continue speaking out despite attempts to silence him.

“The reason they are involving the DSS and police is to keep me from exposing these issues. They cannot silence me,” he concluded.
